Assigning & Reassigning Patients

Assigning patients to the appropriate team member helps ensure continuity of care, clear ownership, and timely follow-up. In ITO Health, patients can be assigned (or reassigned) to users in your organization, using two supported ways so far.


Assigning a patient from patient profile

This method is useful when you are already reviewing or editing an individual patient’s information.

  1. Navigate to the Patients section
  2. Select My Patients or All Assigned Patients tab
  3. Click on the patient’s name to open their profile
  4. Select Edit next to the patient’s name (See: Viewing & Editing Patient)
  5. In the General info section, locate the Assigned user dropdown. From there, you can pick an existing user in your organization's database, or add a new user.
  6. Save your changes

Assigning patients from Patients list

This method only works when you are on the Unassigned Patients tab.

  1. Navigate to the Patients section
  2. Select the Unassigned Patients tab (see: Navigating the Patients page)
  3. Locate the patient you want to assign
  4. In the Assigned user column, select Assign
  5. Choose a user from your organization
